Field Trips
LIFE organizes several fun and educational field trips throughout the year. Please read our field trip FAQ for more information.
March Tea
In March, we celebrate Time for Encouragement and Accountability with an evening tea. The hostesses serve their fellow members with delicious treats at beautifully decorated tables. There is often music and a guest speaker.
Moms' Christmas Party
The moms’ Christmas party is a special event, held in early December in place of the December meeting. We enjoy getting to know one another better, sharing favorite dishes, and celebrating the birth of our Savior.
Moms’ Night Out
We meet once each month at a local restaurant for those who can attend.
Monthly Meetings
Our group meets monthly beginning in September and ending in May. The meetings are a time of fun and fellowship, in addition to sharing information on topics of interest to homeschooling moms.
Standardized Testing
End of the year standardized testing, administered by a certified proctor, is arranged for our students, grades 3 and up. Members are responsible for the cost of the test and postage, but the proctor’s fee is paid by LIFE.
Teen Events
Our teen group meets once each month during the school year to enjoy with their peers a time of devotion and an activity planned especially for them. Teens eighth grade and older also publish a newspaper every other month during the school year.
Used Curriculum Sale
LIFE organizes a venue and mechanism for members to sell used educational items. The event is publicized to the homeschooling community at large in order to draw as many shoppers as possible.
Valentine’s Party
The children exchange Valentine cards and enjoy games, crafts and snacks.
World’s Fair
Volunteers decorate rooms and provide information about a country of their choice. The students visit the rooms as if on a world tour, learning about the countries and their cultures.
Year-End Moms' Dinner
Each May, LIFE moms enjoy a catered dinner at the home of one of our members, with fun and fellowship. We look back over the year to share thoughts and ideas about our favorite LIFE moments and to brainstorm about ideas for the coming year. |
